Hey Card Free fans… as a special treat for reading this blog, I give you THREE SUPER SECRET SINGLES BLOCKS!!
Ok, so I guess these aren’t THAT secret, but they are fun additions to the standard rules you can add to your game. We all love a good NEWS block, but why should Kongs and Winds have all the fun? Here are three more singles blocks you can add to your hands in order to have a special singles block for each block type. Just like a NEWS block, the tiles that make these blocks are all considered singles, so you cannot call for a tile to complete one of these blocks unless it is the last tile you need for Mah Jongg. Adding these to your game will make it easier to make Mah Jongg hands, so I added an optional restriction to each if you want to make them a little more challenging to use.
Joker Pair

- Use 2 Jokers to make a Pair block. You can call for a discarded Joker to make this pair if it is the last tile you need for Mah Jongg.
- Optional Restrictions: If you make a Joker Pair, you can’t use Jokers in any other blocks in your hand.
Dragon Pung

- Use 1 tile of each Dragon (Red, Green, Soap) to make a Pung block.
- Optional Restriction: If you make a Dragon Pung, you can’t use Dragons in another block.
Consecutive Quint:

- Use 5 consecutive numbers of the same suit to make a Quint block.
- Optional Restriction: The numbers must be 1,2,3,4,5.
EXTRA SPECIAL SINGLES HAND
You want something even more special? How about a new Special Hand full of just singles blocks! If you use one of each singles block, your hand is worth 200 points!

You can use one or all of these singles blocks in your game, just make sure your group all agrees on which blocks you are using and if you are using the optional restrictions or not.
And remember, don’t tell anyone else about these, they are SUPER SECRET!!
